Every now and again its worthwhile to refresh our collective memory about mailing list discipline... especially when the traffic gets heavy, as it has recently. A few suggestions to keep the list more useful: 1. try to avoid copying a message to the individual who sent it as well as the list... if they are on the list, it just means they get multiple copies. 2. Topics drift as the focus of the dicussion moves... please take an extra moment to change the SUBJECT field to reflect what your message is really about. 3. multiple nested inclusions are almost never understandable beyond the first level. If you want people to read your note and actually understand your argument, it helps to eliminate the > he said... >> she said... >>> someone once said... take a minute to recapitualte the argument in a sentence and respond... it takes a few more moments, but helps everyone who reads the note, and may even help to crystalize the argument you're making. thanks stu %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
