With all the virus hoaxes going around, the tendancy to discount this one too is probably strong. I read it in the LA Times Sunday, heard about it on NPR Monday, and the web sites for the anti-virus companies were jammed when I tried to get more information. It affects Word 97 and Outlook. If you get an e-mail from someone you know, the subject line says "an important e-mail from _______", and the body says "here's the list you asked for ;-)" then be careful. There will be a file attached. It includes a list of pornographic web sites. The real problem is that when it asks you if you want to open the macro, when you open the file, click no. The macro will pull the first 50 addresses from your Outlook e-mail file and send this message, and whatever file you're working on at the time, to them. It's not a hoax, unfortunately. Renee (It was hard to write this without the "red flags" of the hoaxes, that is, strong warnings, "THIS IS REAL", "send this to everyone you know", etc. :-) ) %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
