I am a rehab PT working primarily with stroke and brain-injured clients. I have not found any long term carryover with my use of short term NMES for the correction of shoulder subluxation. Some studies have suggested as much as 6 hrs. a day of e-stim, but I have not yet tried such a vigorous approach. I too am perplexed by this problem.
