Leonardo Academy's Cleaner and Greener Program is focused on putting the competitive market to work for the environment. Demand for green energy can be created in a variety of ways: directly by consumers, through regulatory processes, or legislation. The combined impact of the demand for green energy will drive the market to deliver more green energy. Therefore, green energy choices are becoming available to consumers, even where utility industry restructuring has not yet occurred. Where electric utility industry restructuring has been implemented, consumers can choose who they buy electricity from and how their electricity is produced, and thus have many green energy choices available to them. Leonardo Academy's Cleaner and Greener Green Energy Project is helping organizations and individuals decide what green energy choices fit their particular objectives and pocketbooks. To help organizations and individuals make their decisions, Leonardo Academy's Cleaner and Greener Program is preparing and distributing information on the costs, benefits, and issues affecting choices among different types of green energy.
