One place to start would be the Passion volume of Gertrud Schiller, _Ikonographie der christlichen Kunst_: and I think that volume came out in an English edition as well. Also check the _Lexikon der christlichen Ikonographie_ under "Arma Christi". I don't have either close to hand, but that's where I'd begin.
