Carolyn, A possible addition to your list: St Geminian, patron saint of Modena in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. From being a deacon at Modena he rose to become its bishop. He is credited with having saved Modena from destruction at the hands of invading Huns by creating a heavy mist that rendered the city invisible, as well as with other miracles. He is also noted for his staunch opposition to the heresy of Jovinian. His relics were translated to Modena's new cathedral in 1106 which still stands and where they can be seen to this day.
