------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- From: Aminia Brueggemann <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Volume on Berlin-Paris: Call for submissions Berlin-Paris: Submissions are invited for a projected volume on any aspect of the differences and commonalties between France and Germany, in particular the cultural undertones that have characterized the French-German love/hate symbiosis from the early 1900's through the 1990's in narrative discourses. Informed by both literary and cultural theory, our volume orients itself around the tensions and competition between these two nations (as they struggle not only with their own individual identities but with their collective European one). The editors wish to include a wide variety of themes and critical approaches (on art, film, history, and literature) in order to create a cross-disciplinary book. Send abstracts by May 1, 1999 to Drs. Aminia Brueggemann ([log in to unmask]) and Peter Schulman ([log in to unmask]), Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, BAL 600, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA 23529, USA.
