It is hoped that the Keele volume could be published by the end of 2000, i.e. before RAE deadline, and to this end potential contributors are asked to note that they will be required to submit the first version of their papers by end October 1999 (5000 words text; please use MHRA conventions). Further details will be provided in due course. CUTG 2000 takes place at the University of Southampton (10-12 April) and offers of papers are warmly invited for this meeting also (deadline: end of September 1999).
