Dear Victor,

Adding to your list of literature on the lenght of antibiotic
treatment in UTI two older studies: one meta-analysis on single dosis
and a peculiar study on one tablet, low dosis of trimethoprim.
The latter, as far as can recall, concerns 1 tabl of 100 mg
trimethoprim and it is efficacious.

By the way: why has never been tried to treat a strept throat
similarely to UTI: one dosis, low dosis, short courses of 3, 2 or
even 1 day. Microbiological statements about antibiotic resistance
when treating with too short courses have never been proven. Another
medical myth?
Clinically recovery of streptococcus tonsillitis is remarkable quick,
often within 24 hours. (Yes I know, many are viral infectious,
natural course over time, etc.; but some certainly are bacterial
infections)
