Could anyone recommend any synthesis books like Sidney Tarrow's
_Power in Movement_ (1998) which provide an overview of collective action
examples either in Africa, the Islamic world, India, East Asia, or Latin
America?
His book tells half the story of the politics of state expansion and
movement facilitation, geographicaly speaking: from Russia to Europe to
the United States. A book is required that deals with the many polities
outside his example frame. Hopefully there is something you have heard of,
or know of somewhere there is a list of references for social movements
literatures which DISREGARD Europe and the United States.
