Database Analyst/Programmer Required --------------------------------------------------- Job Goal: Consolidation and development of College database applications. Providing secure and reliable networked access to database systems. Job Specifc. 1. Provision of support to exisitng users of database and productivityapplications. 2. Consolidation, rationalisation and developmnet of existing database systems. 3. Management and access acontrol to college Intranet systems. 4. Deputising for Intenet analyst during absence. 5. Ensure security procedures are developed and adhered to. 6. Staff training on Intranet systems and policies. 7. System backup and recovery procedures within areas of responsibility. General Duties as required Education: Minimum HND level (or equivalent) in IT related subject. Knowledge of Internet/CD ROM and networking technologies. Background: Two years general exposure to PCs/Macs and related peripherals and proven interest in information systems. Internet & Internet development experience, hands on WWW page development of a proven interest in acquiring these skills. Understanding of network principles, experience of Novell 4.11. Proven experience of database dvelopment (Filemaker Pro, Visual Basic).
