I don't know why...if you provide the right controls. Our staff and
students self register and can choose from different levels of
"availability" for their email addresses eg worldwide, campus, no
"publicity", no real name alias or of course no email. I ssupect the last
option isn't there if they want to complete a course or have a job...but
it is a choice, just the consequences are a little drastic!
