The date and venue for the third national web manager's workshop has now been finalised. The Institutional Web Management workshop will take place at Goldsmiths College, London from 7-9th September 1999. The workshop will cover a range of topics of interest to members of web management teams including web design, accessibility, metadata, information flow models, publishing policies, database integration, web server management, new web technologies, web tools, management issues, web strategies, etc. The workshop will consist of a mixture of presentations, discussion groups, demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Many of the speakers will be experienced web practitioners from the higher education community, who are aware of the issues and concerns of this community. A small organising committee has been set up, consisting of Brian Kelly (UKOLN), Andrew Aird (Goldsmiths College), Britta Brown (Cardiff University) and Helen Varley Sargan (Cambridge University). The organising committee is currently identifying key themes for the workshop. Further information on the workshop will be sent to the website-info-mgt Mailbase list. Calls for speakers, workshop leaders, etc. will be sent to this list shortly. The organising committee encourages discussions and ideas for the workshop to be held on this list.
