ISTR that the original BikePark centre in Convent Garden took an age to establish itself, during which they were especially glad of cycle industry support. Some of UK cycle challenge (1996) bids did survive through having strong business goals and funding structure. Others were more subsidy junkies which folded when the fix dried up. But I'd be interested in any feedback on the way the concept has been developed overseas, especially where there is no cultural pattern which will provide the critical mass of use, the moment the facility opens. eg the ADFC/DB AG scheme for Fahrradstationen and its initial opening at Nordrhein-Westfalen station.
