I was interested in this report, details of which Jeff forwarded.
Unfortunately I am now the victim of social exclusion. The report costs
40 pounds, which I do not feel is a nominal sum. I cannot afford it, and
there is no copy at the British Library. The organisation has refused to
send a free copy or reduce the price.

If the results of the research are worth reading (and it appears to be
one of the few things directly relevant to my research about transport
imagery), then the dissemination of the information needs to be
carefully thought out. The othe rorganisation which is producing things
directly relevant is Lex - they charge 345 pounds for each of their
things.

As far as I am concerned, the research might have been done but it has
not been disseminated. What do others think? I doubt if my university
library will buy it, and I do not want to ask East Yorkshire Libraries
to buy it, as it is relatvely specialised for them.

> You may be interested to know of a report on Women & Transport in the

> their attitudes to alternative means of travel, their perceived travel
> barriers
> and problem areas. This is a valuable addition to the very limited pool of
> available research on women's travel needs.
