I now have Analyze (Analyze AVW) and SPM running on my Unix. I'm trying to convert Siemen Vision MRI images to formats that SPM can analyze for fMRI. Analyze can import the Siemen images and convert them into a *.img and *.hdr file. However, I have only been able to do this w/ Analyze putting all the slices (eg, 800 slices =10 slices/brain * (40 brains at rest + 40 brains during experiment) into one *.img file, with the dimension of 128 x 128 x 800 x1. I tried editing the header to be 128 x 128 x 10 * 80, but SPM doesn't seem able to read this single file containing multiple volumets. SPM also crashes when using the original 128 x 128 x 800 x 1 .img file. It seems SPM can only read multiple *.img files, each containing one brain. So, my questions: 1) Can SPM read a multi-volume single .img file-- and if so, how? 2) IF SPM can't, how do you get AnalyzeAVW to import, say, 800 Siemen slices and export 800 .img files instead of one huge .img file? Any help would be greatly appreciated-- Thanks, Ken Perrine %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
