Dear Colleagues:

My apologies for the inevitable cross-posting.

***************
Would you like the possibility of letting other HEIs know
of your good practice? Would you be prepared to
[anonymously] share a failure to let others know what they
might avoid? If so, please read on...
***************

Some of you will know that I am running a JISC-funded
project known as SCAITS, concerning the embedding of Staff
C+IT Skills in HEIs - see http://www.uea.ac.uk/csed/scaits

In support of that work I am now seeking examples of good
practice and also 'cautionary tales' from across the HE
community... in other words I am looking for examples
of where an HEI has done something that has really made a
difference to getting C+IT skills embedded in part or the
whole of the workforce, and also instances where such an
effort has gone wrong.

So if you can contribute [preferably] 'about a side of A4'
worth - saying what you were trying to do, how you
approached it, what happened, unexpected benefits or
drawbacks, issues arising and so on, then I should be
delighted.

Where the stories are of success then if included as an
illustrative case in the SCAITS write up then I'd be
pleased (with your permission - please indicate) to
identify the HEI. 'Cautionary tales' would of course remain
anonymous, but are also very important.

So please, do help both this project and the broader HE
community by responding if you have something useful to
report.

If you have any questions about this request, or about the
project in general, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Many thanks,
Paddy
