PhD & Postdoctoral positions available immediately in the group of Eli Pollak.
I am looking to fill two PhD or postdoctoral positions immediately for
theoretical research in molecular dynamics in gas and condensed phases.
Phenomena include bimolecular and unimolecular reactions,
energy relaxation processes, surface diffusion, molecular spectroscopy and
femtosecond dynamics of polyatomic molecules. Theoretical aspects
include molecular dynamics simulations, quantum Monte Carlo methods,
inverse Laplace transform algorithms, development of thermodynamic theories
for dynamics, the study of generalized Langevin equations, Fokker Planck
equations, semiclassical methods, mixed quantum classical theories,
and noise reduction using for example distributed approximating functionals.

The positions are for a year, and renewable for up to three years. Working
conditions at the Weizmann Institute are pleasant, the salary offered for
a postdoctoral position (ca 23000 USD per annum) is more than sufficient for
covering local expenses.
