Very many thanks to those who responded with data re Sark for my book on that
island. Can I ask a few more questions.?

(1)...Has anyone details of a John Hunt of Chiselborough (Somerset ?) a mining
surveyor in the 1830's operating in Guernsey Sark and Herm ?
(2)...It is folklore that a tea and coffee set in Sark silver was on exhibit
in Guernsey to drum up punters in the mines. Is this likely given that the ore
went to Beer Alston to be smelted. Would it have lost it's identity in
smelting, ie mixed with other consignments ? My feeling is that this was
silver service brought out when the need to raise funds was paramount and was
probably made anywhere.
(3)...A subscriber kindly sent me extracts from a tome by W.J.Henwood written
circa 1840. Does anyone know his credentials, ie expert or just plebian !
(4)...He refers to an active mine on Great Sark in 1812, which pre-dates all
previously recorded activity. Anyone any ideas about this ?

Many thanks
