Please can you help.
I have in my possession a miners lamp manufactured by: The Protector =
Lamp & Lighting Co. Ltd. Type SLM&O. It is stamped No. 121 and the =
owners name Eccles.
I would like to find out more about it. e.g.
-How old is it=20
-What is the wire loop for, which is connected across two pillars =
beside the wick?
-How does the swing lever operate, which supposedly closes over the =
fill hole but doesn=92t because of a sprung loaded plunger, which looks =
as though it was intended to hold the lever in the closed position.
I would like to understand what made it safe for use in mines.
