In many spheres there is a general trend towards the medicine and the
life sciences - the media included. It maybe just a fashion, and I share
your concern, but we are entering a scientific era in which genetics and
neuroscience are the new big areas of major scientific and technological
advance, the so-called 'age of the brain [and body]'. What you observe
may just reflect this.

Funding is a problem in general for all of us. Unfortunately I am
restricted to effectively doing H of S as a hobby - I have to rely  on
the charity of COPUS and industry (and most grateful I am too). I would
love to do more, but
