Colleagues This is to announce a major book/web project called 'Formations'. To be launched in autumn 2000, 'Formations' will be a Media Studies Companion in book and web form, where the web site will considerably enhance the multi-contributor book via user-driven online content areas. The combined book and web site will be aimed at you and your students, so do let me know if you have any advice or comments about the project. We hope to be working closely with Helen Davis and Daniel Chandler, who already do such good work in support of our field's discovery of the potential of online working. The project is a collaboration involving Manchester University Press, the School of Media & Performing Arts at the University of Ulster and the university funding councils' Joint Information Systems Committee.
