This Conference is held internationally (California, New York, Texas, Moscow, and Gifu, Japan) as well as across the European Union. It acts as a forum for users, suppliers, researchers and government in the 'Culture x Technology' area. The main EVA'99 Scotland Conference will be held on July 22 and 23 at the National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh, where the exciting new Museum of Scotland is expected to be a major attraction for Conference speakers and participants, including from Italy, Japan, Netherlands and USA. Scottish speakers include John Crompton of the Museum of Scotland, Graham Durrant of the Glasgow Science Centre, Sandy Buchanan of SCRAN, Robin Tatler of Delphic Interactive and Jill Harden & Elizabeth Henson of the National Museums of Scotland, NMS. The Conference will be co-chaired by Bruce Royan of SCRAN, Mike Spearman of NMS and James Hemsley of VASARI UK. A special SCRAN Workshop will be held on Wednesday afternoon 21st July, which will present highlights of this major national program (budget £15 million) aimed primarily at the Educational Application of Scottish Cultural Heritage using the latest technologies including the World Wide Web.
