On Behalf Of Rob Huxley Subject: Post vacant - Systems and Database Manager SYSTEMS AND DATABASE MANAGER The Botany Department at the Natural History Museum is seeking a Systems and Database Manager. Your main responsibilities will include: managing, implementing and supporting collections database, internet and intranet developments and other IT projects; managing and providing systems administration for departmental facilities such as file servers and digital camera systems. You should have a degree (or substantial equivalent experience) in an information technology or natural history related subject. Experience in setting up and managing computer databases in MS Access and/or using UNIX systems is essential as is experience with Windows NT, network management and creating and using web pages. Experience in collections and project management as well as training in development of Access databases, is desirable. The appointment is for 3 years in the first instance. The starting salary will be in the range of 21,647-25,000 pounds per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
