Apologies for cross-posting

ISI Web of Science Service for UK Higher Education
Train-the-trainers courses

The ISI Web of Science service will be provided by MIMAS from September
1999.

In advance of the service going live a number of training sessions have
been scheduled specifically intended for library staff who would then be
training their colleagues and other members of their institution.

A separate series of briefings, providing a general introduction to the ISI
Web of Science service, will be organised and publicised separately
shortly.

All the courses will be afternoon only, starting at 2pm. The format will be
an initial taught section followed by a practical with workbooks supplied.

On-line documentation and training materials will be made available via the
service web site at http://wos.mimas.ac.uk/ to coincide with the training
courses. The material has been developed by library staff at Manchester
Metropolitan University and John Rylands University Library of Manchester
and is intended to supplement that provided by ISI.

In total over 530 places are available, but please indicate a second
location/date preference when booking.

There is no charge for attendance, but note that lunch will not be provided
and attendees are responsible for their own travel arrangements.
