There are a lot of ways of doing maintaining your list of e-journals.
Since I work in a biopharmaceutical company and we only read certain type of
journals/e-journals we don't have that long a list. I assume that the
e-journal list is created as a webpage. Anyway I do break them down into
category and alphabetical orders. I maintain them both manually. It's not
really a lot of work. Make sure you have the A-Z list available in every
part of the page (esp. if you have a long list of e-journal) so that your
users do not have to keep going to the top. That could be annoying.

Another way of doing it by using MS Excel. You could always customise it to
arrange everything in alphabetical order every so often.

FYI I am a librarian as well as a web designer. I am very much into IT and
constantly finding way to use IT to manage the library system or collection
development better or in other words to make my life easier :)) I used to be
an IT Librarian in a public library in Sabah, Malaysia and now working in
Cambridge and believe it or not the libraries (all types) in that country
are more advanced in their usage and development of IT than here in England.

I hope my input helps.

Subject: Alphabetic listing of e-journals

Hello

Another question about alphabetic listing of e-journals - I've got a
real bee in my bonnet about this at the moment.

Would anyone on the list who has created and/or maintains a list of
their available e-journals in alphabetic order of title care to say how
they did it? Are there clever pieces of software which can help create
or maintain such a list, or is it all done manually? How much time does
it take to maintain such a list and how often do you update it?

All responses gratefully received.

Melvin
