David How about investing some of this money into more multi-disciplinary projects including library mergers with all the maximisation benefits for physical, virtual and human resources that that entails?. Another related idea would be to provide funding to build on licenses already held by higher educational establishments to improve access for all disciplines to Internet resources. I do realise, hosever, that the latter entails ongoing expense.
