Just as NATO avoided an invasion
in Kosovo, it is prudent for Australia
not to invade without the permission
of the government in Jakarta.

An invasion without permission might
ignite violence in other parts of Indonesia,
and Indonesian nationalism is a
dangerous problem.

The Indonesian armed forces is something else
that the Yugoslav army, demoralized by defeats
over Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia.

I am not for Australian intervention at this time.
