BUSINESS ANALYST/PROGRAMMER (HIMS)

Salary £20,355 - £24,678 per annum
with a Functional Premium of £5,000

A GIS/Oracle application developer and support specialist, educated to at least degree standard in GIS or a related discipline, with a proven track record in all aspects of GIS is required to actively assist in the development and effective use of the Authority's integrated Highways Information Management Systems.

The successful applicant will have at least 5 years practical experience developing and supporting Oracle and GIS applications within both PC and UNIX environments.  Specifically with at least 3 years experience of application development within Arcview, Oracle and ESRI's Spatial Data Engine (SDE) environments.

Working within a small specialised team you will be expected to take a hands on approach to development and support, being able to program fluently in ESRI's AVENUE language as well as other procedural and object oriented language (Visual Basic 6 etc.).  An in depth working knowledge of Oracle (7.*) and Forms (4.5) is essential.

You must be self motivated and have the confidence to work on your own initiative.
