Universities today should be giving provision to meet students' special
educational needs, in line with equal opportunities policies. 

If a student has a problem, he or she should speak to whoever is in charge
of special educational needs provision, in order to negotiate their case.

The Department for Education and Employment's national working party for
dyslexia in higher education produced a document this year giving guidance
to all universities, and we would recommend it as a way forward in
situations like this. Each university has a copy.

NADO, the National Association of Disability Officers was launched at a
conference in March 1999.
