Dear All,

This isn't ballad-related as such, but I know that some of you out
there may have relevant information.

Subject: [IASPM-LIST] Choirs and social change

[ Double-click this line for list subscription options ]

Is anyone aware of current work being done or published on choirs as agents
of social change; choirs/choir singing as more palatable medium (than
speeches) by which an audience may absorb a social political message than
if spoken; choirs at rallies, protests; choirs as 'mediating','pacifying'
forces at rallies, eg trade unions gatherings, human rights. Plenty of
stuff around on music and social change, of course - the emphasis and focus
in this enquiry are on choirs.

All assistance much appreciated. Please reply directly to [log in to unmask]

Thanx, Bruce Johnson.
