A little while ago, I put on Allstat the following request for help: "Does anyone know of a web-site where I can easily download daily rainfall data (for teaching purposes) for a period of, say, two years, for a site in the UK (and sites elsewhere, if possible)." I received quite a number of suggestions, which are summarised below. I haven't tried all these, because my own immediate needs were satisfied by UK data sent to me by Nick Cox ([log in to unmask]). I also had offers of data from Ireland (Richard Chandler, [log in to unmask]), the Pacific Islands (Julian Besag, [log in to unmask]), Milwaukee, USA (Jay Warner, [log in to unmask]) and the Hunter valley, Australia (Alan Gore, [log in to unmask]). Thanks to all who responded and offered help. My apologies for the delay in putting the summary together, and to anyone who responded who I might have inadvertently omitted from the list below.
