Westlakes Research Institute combines a successful consultancy with a
research based academic capability in
West Cumbria. Our interests cover Environmental Science, Occupational
Health & Medical Statistics, Genetics,
Bio-sciences and Social Sciences.
The continuing development and growth of our business has created
vacancies for two Statistician's to join a
team of five within the Occupational Health and Medical Statistics
Department.
The statistical work of the Occupational Health & Medical Statistics
department is directed towards the
commercial application of statistics to occupational health and health
care problems. The work includes
occupational epidemiology, sickness absence and clinical trials studies.
To succeed in this challenging post you will have a degree in
mathematics or statistics, ideally backed by a
post-graduate qualification. With a strong grounding in biostatistics
and possibly some knowledge of
pharmacokinetics, ideally gained from 2 - 3 years experience in the
pharmaceutical industry or a contract
research organisation, you will be a self-starter with excellent
communication and interpersonal skills and have
an ability to meet deadlines.

The contract of employment for all posts will be with Westlakes
