FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES. SENIOR
STATISTICIAN. SCHOOL OF POPULATION HEALTH SCIENCES
(POSITION NO. G34/99). 

Position: The Hunter Centre for Health Advancement is a
collaborative unit of the Hunter Area health Service and
the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the
University of Newcastle and undertakes a range of health
programs in the Hunter Area. The appointee will
coordinate and provide statistical information, analyses
and present findings to management and external funding
bodies. 

Person: Applicants should possess a relevant
postgraduate qualification or progress towards
postgraduate qualifications; extensive experience in the
application of statistics and the use of statistical
packages for the manipulation of data and statistical
analysis including programming; expertise in complex
data editing methods and well-developed analytical and
problem solving skills. Extensive experience in
population health research, survey statistics or
biostatistics would also be an advantage. 

Benefits: HEW Level 8 $46,162 to $53,855 per annum plus an increase
of 4% payable on March 1, 1999.

full time (fixed-term) basis until 31 December, 2000.
