                  SPATIAL AND COMPUTATIONAL STATISTICS

                 Second Announcement and Call for Papers

This open conference will cover the following broad themes in spatial
and computational statistics:

    Spatial point processes and stochastic geometry
    Non-linear geostatistical models and methods
    Latent models
    Markov chain Monte Carlo theory and methods
    Extreme value theory and methods

To promote close interaction amongst participants, there will be NO
PARALLEL SESSIONS.

Invited speakers will include:

Laird Breyer (Aalborg University, Denmark/Lancaster University, UK)
Richard Davies (Colorado State University, USA)
Merrilee Hurn (University of Bath, UK)
Hein Putter (University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
Martin Schlather (Bayreuth University, Germany)
David Spiegelhalter (MRC Biostatistics Unit, Cambridge, UK)
Dietrich Stoyan (Freiberg University, Germany)
Richard Tweedie (University of Minnesota, USA)
Rasmus Waagepetersen (Chalmers University, Sweden)
Jonathan Wakefield (University of Washington, Seattle, USA)

In addition the programme will include about 25 half-hour slots 
for contributed oral presentations, and an evening poster session.

Charlotte Mason College is located in the centre of Ambleside, which 
is itself set in the heart of the beautiful English Lake District.
