Statistical Analysts
The new Department of Biostatistics at The University of
Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is seeking highly motivated
Statistical Analysts with biostatistics expertise. The successful
candidate will join an expanding team of Biostatisticians working
on a wide variety of collaborative projects in cancer research.
Statistical Analyst positions available include those with a
primary focus in clinical trial design and conduct, data analysis,
development of statistical methodology and software, genomics,
informatics or technical writing.
Requirements include a Master's degree in biostatistics,
statistics, computing or related field, a working knowledge of
Windows and/or UNIX operating systems and experience in
programming and statistical analysis, preferably in an academic
and/or biomedical environment. Proficiency in S-PLUS, SAS,
Fortran, C or similar packages is required. Knowledge of medical
terminology, particularly oncology, would be a plus.
M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is one of the three original
comprehensive cancer centers, and is also part of the Texas Medical
Center, the largest medical and health care center of its kind in
the world. Houston is a dynamic, metropolitan city with a strong
economy enhanced by a diverse and multi-cultural population and
reasonable living expenses. Salary is competitive with industry
and is commensurate with experience.
