SCHOOL OF ANIMAL AND MICROBIAL SCIENCES SCHOOL OF PLANT SCIENCES DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED STATISTICS University of Reading POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW: Statistics/Population Ecology The post is funded for up to 3 years by the University of Reading Research Endowment Trust Fund, and is intended to complement the University's existing strengths in applied ecology and statistical genetics. The Fellow will be encouraged to pursue an independent research programme, working in collaboration with researchers in Animal and Microbial Sciences, Plant Sciences and Applied Statistics. The goal of the project is the development of new approaches to analysing molecular genetic data and to tackle problems in population ecology. It is envisaged that this will involve developing methods of inference which would be applied to ongoing projects on the ecology and population genetics of e.g. Corsican nuthatches, Sardinian salamanders, freshwater invertebrates from Europe and North America, and plant parasites. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, and have an interest in both methodology and applications. Salary on the Research 1A scale, range depending on experience.
