At Leeds Metropolitan we are shortly to issue student cards which will control access to, amongst others, the learning centre / library facilities. One point which is not yet resolved is the length of time for which the cards will be valid. What period do other institutions use please - the calendar year, a fixed period from date of enrolment, the academic year of the institution, academic year of the individual... etc. If you would reply directly to me please, I'll draw up a summary and send it out before Christmas.
