The recently published guidelines on clinical management of drug abuse make interesting reading.

In particular there is a suggestion that serum methadone monitoring may be of practical use in the care of problem drug users being treated with methadone maintenance therapy (pages 54 and 56). Does anyone outside Leeds or even in Leeds really do this for real. I would be happy to set it up but there is no demand from clinicians.

For a wonderful example of the iron hand in the velvet glove of clinical governance read page XV.
