I have been asked by a museum if anyone has evaluated the use of
audio-guides in their museum. Lots of people have figures about how many
are hired out etc, but little information about how they are used and
what visitors find most useful. This is particularly as there may be
differences in the way that guides are used on sites and in historic
houses, to the way that they are used in museums and galleries.

Any comments would be useful.
