WANTED GIS SPECIALIST At WRc, were working at the forefront of technology in environmental management, drinking water supply and wastewater. Our consultancy and research programmes cover all aspects of the water cycle, providing services and expertise for water industry and regulators world-wide. Given your experience in an environmental or engineering related field, youll appreciate the value of Geographical Information Systems to our business. As a member of a small but expanding GIS team, you will not only apply and expand the use of GIS and spatial data in everything from mains rehabilitation strategies, catchment resource management, to the pan European exchange of environmental information, but also identify and promote new applications for GI. Ideally youll have a GIS degree, or MSc with working experience of the application and development of MapInfo/MapBasic and/or ArcView/Avenue. Youll be comfortable with the development of GIS applications using Visual Basic, MapBasic, Avenue, C++ and the application of Web based technologies. With proven organisational and problem solving skills, possible experience of contract management and the ability to communicate effectively up to senior levels, youll be experienced in the process of determining clients requirements and ensuring that they are delivered.
