"Within the Earth's fluid iron core lies a solid inner core, about
the size of the Moon. Evidence in recent years has mounted to
indicate that the inner core is an anisotropic solid, possibly
layered, and apparently driven by the geomagnetic field to rotate in
an easterly direction at a rate fast enough to be perceived on human
time scales."
