The Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science Amsterdam, in
collaboration with Utrecht University, has a vacancy for a PhD
position within the project
INFERENCE FOR RANDOM SETS
sponsored by the Dutch organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
The purpose of this project is to study likelihood based inference
for Gibbsian random set models. Applicants should have or expect to
obtain a first class degree in statistics or mathematics. The position
is for four years, preferably commencing in Spring 2000. The salary
is on academic scale 10, commencing at 2195 guilders per month in the
first year, up to 3919 p/m in the last. Secondary conditions include
an exact sciences bonus, superannuation, holiday payments and
the option to take part in health care insurance and child care
schemes.
