In the fast moving global pharmaceutical industry, F.Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd.,
continues to achieve exceptional results in the discovery and development of
effective human medicines.

The Biostatistics department, located in Basel, Switzerland, plays a key
role in successful drug development by operating on a truly international
level and contributing expert input to the drug development process. In
close collaboration with other statisticians and colleagues in
Pharmaceutical Development, especially Data Management and Clinical Science,
Biostatistics contributes to clinical trial activities within global
projects. Specifically, the successful candidate will assist in the design,
analysis and reporting of clinical trials for regulatory submissions, with
emphasis on clinical pharmacology. Very good computing facilities are
available giving access to statistical packages such as SAS, S-Plus and
NONMEM and to the Roche world wide intranet.

Who you are 

The candidate should have a university degree in statistics or very closely
related subject and demonstrate a real interest in applied mathematics and
statistics. Experience in SAS, good knowledge in English, and good
interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
within a matrix of multi-disciplinary and international teams are required.
The candidate should ideally have some experience in the bio-medical field but
this is not a must. Experience in mathematical and statistical modeling,
including nonlinear regression, would be an asset.
