This sort of suggestion is made quite regularly on other electronic
mailing lists that I belong to.

Deleting unwanted subject matter from an easily recognizable source like
allstat is too swift and simple to be "oppressive".

The huge advantage of electronic mailing lists like allstat, stat-l and
anzstat, which do not separate out job adverts, is that the ads reach a
far wider audience than those who are actively seeking jobs. The people
in that audience not only pass on information, but may also be alerted
to a position that they had not previously considered for themselves.
