With apologies for cross-posting LIBRARY ASSOCIATION CATALOGUING AND INDEXING GROUP AND UKOLN SEMINAR ON TARGET AND IN TIME: QUALITY ISSUES IN CATALOGUING MONDAY 7TH DECEMBER 1998 1.30 - 5.00 OCLC EUROPE, BIRMINGHAM This half day seminar presented jointly by UKOLN and LACIG will look at current issues in resource description and discovery including: - bibliographic record provision - currency and availability versus quality - electronic resource management and the role of metadata It is aimed at those concerned with the maintenance and development of information management in their institutions. It is intended to present an overview of current activities and look at ways in which the techniques bibliographic control and electronic information management can support each other. Ann Chapman, Research Officer (Bibliographic Management) and Michael Day, Research Officer (Metadata) from UKOLN will lead the sessions and the seminar will be chaired by Andrew Coburn of Essex Libraries.
