Dear Adam The two makers marks you refer to are both for stel companies in the 'Teeside area' of England. Cargo Fleet was originally a self contained company which was taken over by the South Durham Steel & Iron Co Ltd. They made most types of structural steel. Dorman Long was a partnership between Sir Arthur Dorman and Alberte de lande long formed in about 1875. They eventually acquired most of the steel and iron industry on Teeside upto Nationalisation. As well as producing steel and Iron in most forms they also had there own engineering business. One of the most famous bridges they built was the Sydney harbour bridge. I presume that there will be an archive for them, either in the British Steel Archive or in the Middlesborough Records office. Hope this has been of help to you Graham Brooks %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
