Several openings are anticipated for postdoctoral fellows in Lynn Reder's
lab in the Department of Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University (the
exact number depends in part on whether current fellows remain in the lab).
The anticipated length of fellowship is two years. There are three
projects, all involving computational modeling of human behavioral data.

Please see http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/ldaily/workmem.html for a brief
description of the project that involves modeling individual differences in
working memory using ACT-R (http://act.psy.cmu.edu/).

Please see http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/erickson/sac.html for a
description of some of the modeling efforts using a simpler framework
called SAC.

A new project that is just starting involves collecting fMRI data and
predicting patterns of activation based on SAC~s predictions, and using the
imaging data to inform the development of the theory. Please see
http://neurocog.lrdc.pitt.edu/~ws/Durip.htm for a little more information
on this project (there are no specifics here because we have not yet begun
work on this project.).

Candidates must have completed their doctoral dissertation by early to
mid-summer, 1999 and have a background that enables involvement in
computational modeling (e.g., programming experience). Applications will be
accepted until March 10, 1999. Please send hardcopy (not electronic)
applications to:

Professor Lynne Reder
Dept. of Psychology
Carnegie Mellon Univ.
Pittsburgh, PA 15208.

Applications should include names of those who could send letters of
reference, a vita and qualifications, anticipated degree date, and any
other information deemed relevant.
