The London School of Economics and Political Science - LSE Health
Medtap International Inc.

Intensive Course in:

"The Economic Evaluation of Medical Therapies and Other Health Care
Technologies"

III Edition - London 17-20 March and 21-24 April 1999

The course is aimed at teaching the theoretical background and empirical
research techniques for the economic evaluation of pharmaceutical products,
equipment and procedures used in the delivery of health care. Recent
methodological advances will be discussed during the course, together with a
core set of consolidated principles currently used by researchers in
developing models and experimental studies. The course should enable those
who attend to form or improve their skills in the design of evaluations and
practical application of appraisal methodologies.

The course is intended for all those who are planning to undertake economic
evaluations of medical therapies or other health care technologies, or want
to have a thorough understanding of the research methodologies underlying
such studies. Applicants will be expected to have a university degree or an
equivalent qualification. A prior basic knowledge of economics is useful but
not essential.

The course will be organised in two modules: Module I, 17-20 March 1999 -
Module II, 21-24 April 1999.
