Clare, Thanks so much for making your article available on the webb. It is very helpful. There are two mind mapping tools with specific links from NUD*IST: Inspiration & Decision Explorer. Personally for straightforward mind mapping I prefer Inspiration - I also find the way in which you can export the map as an outline in RTF for import into say Word very useful for converting a mind map into an article. Decision Explorer is a powerful qualitative research tool in its own right and if you want to use cognitive mapping is the one to choose. Decision Explorer is available from Sage, we supply Inspiration to qualitative researchers (together with some instructions on how to get the NUD*IST index tree out as a map). Both packages have demos which allow you to produce maps of NUD*IST projects but not print them. The demos are downloadable from the web (www.sagepub.co.uk for Decision Explorer or www.inspiration.com for Inspiration) and are included with instructions in our NUD*IST distance learning course.
